What are cloud servers?

Cloud server is a cloud computing service. RackRay cloud is a high-reliability virtualization platform implemented using reliable HPE servers and a commercial OnApp cloud management solution. The OnApp management platform allows customers to create new virtual servers themselves, change their configurations, choose one of the offered OS (or install their preferred one) and manage data backups.

What is the difference between cloud computing and dedicated servers?

Cloud computing already has everything you need to set up and use virtual servers. Ready-made automation allows you to get a virtual server with an installed OS, configured networks, backups, etc. at the click of a button. No need to worry about server technical management or physical hardware failures - cloud servers are an all-in-one solution.

What are the advantages of cloud services?

When you choose this option you no longer have to worry about physical hardware. Virtual server resources can be changed as needed with the click of a few buttons. It's a convenient, flexible, all-in-one solution.

Who should choose cloud servers?

We offer cloud servers with Linux or Windows operating system. If you choose Linux, you can choose from CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, Arc Linux, Fedora, openSUSE, Slackware and other OS. For Windows servers, we offer Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019 and others.

Can I change cloud server resources and operating system?

When ordering a cloud server on client portal, you select "Linux" or "Windows" OS and amount of cloud resources. You can increase resources at any time and build as many virtual machines as you want. The cost of cloud resources varies because of the "Microsoft Windows" licenses. Therefore, for example, after purchasing Linux cloud resources, you can choose from OSs belonging to this group (such as Ubuntu, Debian, etc.). However, if you want a Windows virtual server, you must purchase Windows cloud resources.

How long does it take for cloud servers to be up and running?

The server is ready to use within a couple of minutes after receiving the payment.

Do I get backup storage?

When ordering a cloud server, you can select the amount of backup storage you need. You can control the backup schedule yourself.
